Plot Summary
Generation T is a great do-it-yourself guide to taking everyday t-shirts and turning them into something new and unique. The book has 108 projects, organized by stlye, all of which have great photographs and illustrations, along with step-by-step directions about how to achieve the look, not to mention variations and other ways to customize your design. Many of the projects are no-sew, which means that you don't need much more than a pair of scissors and a little creativity to make the t-shirt.
Critical Evaluation
In today's environmental and budget-conscious world, this book makes a great recommendation for teen girls looking to create a unique style, with just an old t-shirt. The directions are extremely easy to follow and the pictures make it fun to select a project. I have actually tried several of the designs and find that I am constantly being complimented for them, even though they took very little effort on my part. Nicolay should be commended for creating a DIY book that will appeal to both teens and adults' sense of creativity. There is also a website, generation-t.com that is a great companion and includes extra projects and inspiration.
